Apple to Launch a bigger version of iPhone

Aching for a bigger iPhone? You may be in luck, because if The Wall Street Journal's latest report is correct, Apple is planning to launch two iPhones with a larger screen this year.
According to the report, one bigger iPhone will have a 4.5-inch display, while the other will have a screen "bigger than 5 inches".
Exact dates when these devices might hit the market are absent, but the 4.5-inch phone is reportedly near mass production, while the bigger device is still in "preliminary development."
Contrary to a rumor we've heard in Nov. 2013, this report claims neither device will have a curved screen.

Both devices will be made of metal, and — the boldest claim in the report — Apple will stop producing plastic phones, such as the iPhone 5C.
Rumors have claimed that the iPhone 5C has not been selling well, but since Apple lumps all its iPhone sales into one big number, we don't know whether they are true. Even if they are, giving up on the iPhone 5C one year after its inception would be uncharacteristic of Apple, which typically keeps an iPhone model in stores for two years or more.

Productive App That Handles To Do list Visually

To do or not to do. That is the question for anyone who has a love/hate relationship with productivity apps. I’ve tested out so many different to-do list, mind-mapping, and Getting Things Done (GTD) apps (as well as various pen-and-paper planner hacks) that I sometimes wonder if it’s become just another way for me to procrastinate.

My main challenge is that no matter how many productivity apps I try, my to-do list never seems to get shorter, and seeing row after row after row of uncompleted tasks every day is discouraging.
DropTask wants to cure to-do list malaise by getting rid of the list altogether. Developed by a UK-based startup, DropTask lets people drag and drop tasks into circles of different colors, then filter them by priority and deadline. You can change the size of circles, and add different people to projects. (Members can also switch to a list view if they prefer, which includes all the same information as the circle view).

Originally a Web app, DropTask is now also available for iPhone ($2.99) and iPad ($4.99).
I found DropTask’s circle view works very well with the iPad’s touchscreen, but is difficult to navigate on the iPhone’s smaller screen. The app is cloud-based, so I recommend downloading the iPhone app only if you need to use the app while you’re out-and-about.
There are already a lot of productivity apps out there for visually-oriented people, like iMindMap and iThoughts. DropTask also competes with products like Asana, Wunderlist, and Trello.
DropTask wants to differentiate not only with its colorful user interface, but also by being as easy and intuitive to use as possible, even for larger projects.
“More often than not, when a new task management application is brought into the picture, the user has to take time to read support articles, learn about all the features, and also how to navigate in and around the app — it’s virtually a task within itself,” DropTask marketing executive Yogita Khetia told me in an email. “But with DropTask, we’ve aimed to keep things simple, yet powerful.”

DropTask can help individuals stay on top of their daily to-do lists and deadlines (Khetia says the app is especially helpful for harried students because its layout helps them instantly see what they have to do for each class). There are also enough features, including the ability to upload files, assign tasks, track progress, and communicate within the app, to make DropTask useful for business users, family members, class projects, or any other group.
“We believe the user experience is really heightened when the individual user transitions into working collaboratively and invites others to share projects with,” says Khetia.
The app already has enough collaboration features for small teams, but DropTask PRO, which is schedule to launch soon, will include project templates and the DropTask inbox to let users email tasks directly into the app. The start-up is also developing a set of user permission and management features to give collaborators and project owners more control over what people can see and edit, and an Android version of the mobile app.

Keshi, who turned 52 on Thursday, took time to express gratitude for the assistance and support he has received from different quarters since he assumed the head coach role of the Nigerian men's national team in November 2011.The former Mali and Togo manager was also full of appreciation for the surprise birthday celebration he got at the team's Green Court Hotel lodgings in Cape Town but remained focused on the clash with Morocco."I feel really good to be alive and well, and I'm happy to be here (in South Africa with the team). The atmosphere has been good and I can't thank God less for what I've achieved with this team."I'm also speechless and at the same time happy with the celebration. It's always good to feel loved and appreciated by people but I've told the team it's not party time as we can't afford to take our eyes off the ball. We are very focused on the next game (against Morocco)," Keshi said.Since becoming Nigeria's head coach, Keshi has guided the Super Eagles to win the Africa Cup of Nations and qualify for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

Facebook to Launch Mobile Ad Network

Facebook took a step towards offering a mobile ad network on Wednesday with a small test running Facebook ads in mobile apps from other publishers.
"Our aim is to demonstrate even greater reach with the same power of Facebook targeting for advertisers both on and off Facebook," the company wrote in a blog post. "While we have run similar tests in the past, this current test is more like a mobile ad network in that we are working directly with a small number of advertisers and publishers rather than an outside ad-serving platform."
For the user, there won't be a noticeable difference. An ad you see on a third-party app may have been presented by Facebook, but it would look the same. In theory, advertisers are getting the benefit of Facebook's deep targeting. If you want to reach 26-year-old men from Toledo, Ohio, who are into beach volleyball, Facebook will help you do that, via Facebook and now, through other mobile apps as well. Which apps? Facebook declined to say.
Facebook first tested a mobile ad network in late 2012, but pulled it after three months. The company resumed the effort in September 2013. As the blog post notes, the difference this time is that Facebook is taking a direct role in connecting advertisers and publishers. Previously, Facebook had sold ads through existing ad-serving networks and publishers.
